A woman has been slapped with a £100 fine after a fellow train passenger moaned that her cat "miaowed too loudly". ‌

Monet the white cat was journeying with owner Camille and her partner Pierre on August 21 when a grumpy passenger made a complaint, prompting a conductor to issue the penalty . Despite the moggy travelling in a carrier, as regulations demand, with its own €7 (£6) ticket, they were hit with a €110 (£100) fine. ‌
