EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Texas gas prices are on the rise ahead of the Labor Day weekend, and El Paso drivers can be impacted as they are paying the most in gas in the state, according to AAA Texas.

"While fewer travelers typically hit the road for this end-of-summer holiday compared to Memorial Day or the Fourth of July, the majority of those celebrating will still be driving to their destinations," AAA Texas said.

The statewide gas price average is $2.81 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel. That price is seven cents more when compared to this day last week and is 15 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year.
