KINGSTON, N.Y. — Democratic U.S. Rep. Josh Riley is pushing legislation along with a Republican colleague to simplify the food stamp program for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Riley, D-Ithaca, who represents the 19th Congressional District, and U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler, R-Peal River, who reporesents the 17th district, have introduced the “Increasing Nutrition Access for Seniors Act of 2025,” Riley’s and Lawler’s offices said. The legislation cuts through Washington red tape to make it easier for Upstate New Yorkers and families across the country to get the food assistance they need, Riley’s office said.
