BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - It’s been three months since Maine’s first comfort dog, Baxter, was found dead inside a state vehicle at the Bangor Regional Communications Center, and there are still very few details from state officials about the investigation into the canine’s death.

We continue to ask questions and continue to get passed from agency to agency.

The 3-year-old chocolate lab was found dead on May 28 inside the hot car.

The Maine Department of Public Safety announced it appeared something caused the running vehicle to shut off.

In June, the department announced there would be an independent investigation led by the Animal Welfare Program of the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
