DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- After tragedy in Minneapolis, districts across the Miami Valley and across the country are working to ensure safety for their students and staff.

2 NEWS spoke with three school districts -- Fairborn, Mad River and Preble Shawnee -- to learn how they are keeping everyone safe.

How Fairborn Schools is preparing

"We are working, in light of every situation that happens, to always be mindful and reflective so that we can do better moving forward," said Amy Gayheart, Fairborn City Schools superintendent.

In Fairborn, they have a standard response protocol that has been reviewed by the Ohio School Safety Center, who say they have a very low risk of an incident.
