GREEN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) - Members of the Less family have been farming in the Green Township area for nearly the last 100 years. They currently grow crops including apples, corn and soybeans on close to 450 acres along Washingtonville Road, but finding enough workers is becoming increasingly difficult.

George Less is a member of the Canfield Fair Board and is one of several generations that have worked the land for years, but now, only one nephew is actively involved.

"He farms my grandfather's farm, and there is really nobody. He's about the last one," Less said. "They're doing pumpkins now, and they have a hard time finding enough labor...because it's a hard job," Less said.

Less says the switch away from farming as a career among young people is part of a nationwide trend.
