Homicide investigators in B.C. say a man has been found guilty of first-degree murder for a 2017 organized-crime killing in Surrey.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team say Brandon Teixeira fled to the United States in 2018 after being charged with the murder of 28-year-old Nicholas Khabra, who was shot to death in Surrey.
Teixeira evaded police until he was eventually arrested in Oroville, California, and was extradited to Canada in April 2020.
Police say he was found guilty of murder, attempted murder and a firearms offence on Monday after a lengthy jury trial.
