ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Ahead of a return to congress, Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY) made a stop in Elmira today to criticize Governor Hochul's push to ban natural gas hookups in new homes starting in 2026 through the All-Electric Buildings Act .

Congressman Langworthy has made several stops in the 23rd district as he rallies support for the Energy Choice Act in order to stop a potential New York State ban natural gas in new homes. The bill is set to go into committee discussions when members of congress reconvene next week.

"Unfortunately, thanks to the radical energy policies coming out of Albany, New York is in the midst of a housing nightmare. I am here today in Elmira with a clear and an urgent message. We need to ban the bans," remarked Langworthy.
