NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - The Norman Police Department will now have a dog that can detect the chemicals inside devices, allowing investigators to find the evidence they need when investigating internet crimes.

"She's specially trained to detect a chemical compound called TPO. It's the chemical used to surround the chips and all of the devices that can hold media data," said Detective Megan Keift, K9 Murphy's handler with Norman Police.

Investigators working on internet crime cases now have a new ally that can sniff out a key chemical in devices.

"Murphy is primarily used in cases, which are Internet crimes against children or cases involving child exploitation, and as investigators, there are a lot of times that, you know, devices as small as a micro SD card could be missed by us," said D
