Chreece, Indianapolis’ beloved independent hip-hop festival, rang in its 10th year Aug. 23. Patrons packed a cluster of Fountain Square venues — Hi-Fi, Hi-Fi Annex, White Rabbit Cabaret, Square Cat Vinyl, Wildfyre Tap and Atomic Bowl — to catch some of Indy's premier rising stars.

Rappers Smino and Mavi, R&B singer Audrey Nuna and local hip-hop trio 81355 (pronounced “bless”) headlined a roster anchored by more than 40 local and regional artists. A vendor village with local businesses selling vintage clothing, custom jewelry, handmade goods and more lined Virginia Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue.

Festival organizers told IndyStar the event officially sold out at 2,000 tickets, though they're still waiting to hear the final tally from Fountain Square businesses and venues.
