U.S. News and World Report is out with its latest rankings of high schools around the country, and placing the highest in Southwest Michigan is Bridgman High School.

The publication ranked Bridgman 15th in the state, moving it up from 22nd in last year’s list. When ranking schools, it considers things like advanced placement participation and proficiency in math, science, and reading.

Bridgman Public Schools Superintendent Shane Peters tells us this is a “high accolade” for the district.

“ I think when you look at our graduation rate, which has always been 97 % or higher, I think that our staff, K-12, prepare our kids for college, and then just that relationship piece and that support structure that we have in place,” Peters said.
