FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Have you been dreaming about adding a pet to your household and saving a few bucks while doing so?

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter is waiving its adoption fees for all of its animals this weekend for the Clear the Shelters event.

From Friday until Sunday, potential adopters can head to either of the two county shelters in Lorton and Fairfax to find a new furry friend.

Each pet will receive age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, deworming, and flea and tick preventatives and a certificate for a free wellness exam with a vet.
