The 100 block of Lovers Lane in Manitou Springs is closed until further notice after a rockslide on Wednesday landed on the road, crushing two vehicles.

No injuries were reported in the incident and the extent of the infrastructure damage is under review, according to a news release by the city of Manitou Springs. City officials are developing a mitigation plan with the private property owner where the rocks originated.

In order to reopen the road, a structural engineer and contractor must evaluate and stabilize the sandstone on the north side, according to the release.

All businesses along the road remain open to the public and traffic is being detoured at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Lafayette Road with alternate access to Canon Avenue near the main shopping district. The relea
