CLEVELAND — The Cleveland National Air Show returns to Burke Lakefront Airport this Labor Day weekend. This year's theme, "The Glory Days of Aviation," celebrates the legacy of flight in Northeast Ohio — a story Cleveland has helped write from the earliest days of powered aviation.

For Cleveland, aviation has always been more than just transportation — it's about the spectacle, the roar of engines, the sight of wings slicing the sky.

Executive Director Kim Dell has seen it all from her post at the air show gates. She says the real magic begins with the faces in the crowd.

"When you see the people coming in the gate — especially the young people, the children — and to see how wide-eyed they are," she says.
