UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) - After several months without a director, Mollie Haren has taken the position of director at the Unicoi Animal Shelter.
Haren was a veterinarian for six years before taking on the role, a background that she says will benefit her as a director.
"I feel like this is the next move for me. I used to work with rescues, and I like the shelter and rescue environment," Haren said. "We're just growing and we're going to roll with the punches and it's going to be fun."
She says that after Hurricane Helene, it's been a challenge getting the shelter back on track, but she looks forward to hopefully starting to restore the building. • Unicoi County Animal Shelter after Hurricane Helene • Unicoi County Animal Shelter after Hurricane Helene
