WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Undocumented immigrants detained in Kansas are no longer eligible for release on bond, following a new ruling from the Kansas City Immigration Court.

The policy, announced in July by the federal government, applies to individuals who crossed into the United States illegally. Under the ruling, those detained must remain in custody until their cases are decided by an immigration judge — regardless of the severity of the offense.
