SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Frigo's, a family-owned deli in Springfield, is gearing up for a busy Labor Day weekend, expecting sales to double as they prepare for the holiday rush.

The deli, which has been serving the Springfield and East Longmeadow communities since 1950, is preparing for one of the last picnic holiday weekends of the year.

To meet the increased demand, Frigo's has hired additional staff, with up to 12 people working on the floor to ensure everything runs smoothly.

"We try to make it easy for everyone. So you just come in. It's all laid out, it's like a picture," said Joe Frigo, owner of Frigo's. "We paint that picture every day with shrimp pasta salad, grilled shrimp, grilled vegetables."
