LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Thursday, a federal judge ordered the Conway School District to remove all Ten Commandments displays from its classrooms.
A news release from the American Civil Liberties Union of Arkansas (ACLU) stated that a temporary restraining order issued by the judge now gives the school district until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, to remove all displays.
“Conway School District had every opportunity to do the right thing and respect families’ constitutional rights, but instead chose to defy a clear federal ruling,” said John Williams, legal director of the ACLU of Arkansas. “The court has now made it crystal clear: forcing the Ten Commandments into public school classrooms is unconstitutional.
