CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the community of Narcan stands following a spike in overdoses across the county.

Deputies say that on Wednesday, there were six overdoses in a span of eight hours, with two being fatal. Two incidents listed heroin as a substance, with one incident as fatal.

Narcan is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, including heroin, fentanyl and prescription opioid medications. Narcan is a pre-filled nasal spray that anyone can use without training or authorization.
