POCATELLO — Miss USA is set to make an appearance at a pasta dinner the night before the Pocatello Marathon Saturday.

Mary Calley, the race director for the marathon, said the dinner will be held at the ICCU Bengal Alumni Center on 1601 East Bonneville Street at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Alma Cooper, who was crowned Miss USA 2024, will be speaking during the event.

"Miss USA will be speaking at 6 p.m.," Calley said.

Alma Cooper was invited to speak at this dinner after she signed up for another running event and tagged the Pocatello Marathon in a social media post. The event she was running in was a Boston Marathon qualifying run, just like the Pocatello Marathon.

"She said she's qualified to run in Boston," Calley said. "We reached out to her and asked if she wanted to speak."
