New housing, entertainment, restaurants and even a Ferris wheel could soon be reality for people on Pittsburgh's North Shore and in neighboring communities.

However, some community members are raising concerns about what is underneath this ground and why people should be pumping the brakes on the Esplanade project. Advertisement

"We went to City Council. We went to the board of education. We went to the county. We asked the questions about the toxicity of this site. They voted with their hands and said, hell no, we want this project to go. And that's how we're here today," said Stanley Lowe, founder of Manchester Neighbors.
