THOMSON, Ga. (WJBF)- Three years after James Wilson killed his wife Virginia "Sue" Wilson, he appeared before a judge and the District Attorney Thursday.
After entering a plea deal in court, he was sentenced to 15 years without parole in confinement, and 20 years on probation.
The assistant DA recalling the events during the early hours of September 7th, 2022.
“The Sheriff himself was the first person to arrive on scene. When he got there, the defendant was in the front yard of the house, on his knees, holding a 38-caliber pistol to his chest. The defendant told the Sheriff, ‘I done made a mess, I killed her," said Terry Lloyd.
After getting arrested in a standoff, Wilson was charged with murder and possession of a firearm.
