The first images from Kate Winslet ’s directorial debut “ Goodbye June ” have been revealed. The film will release in select theaters on Dec. 12, and will premiere on Netflix on Dec. 24.

The film centers around a family during the holiday season, when their mother’s health thrusts the four adult siblings and their father together as they attempt to manage and navigate their family dynamic. When the fear of potential loss hits the household, their mother, June, decides to orchestrate her own decline on her own terms, bringing the family closer together through humor and blunt honesty.

Winslet stars as Julia, one of June’s children, with Helen Mirren playing June, the matriarch of the family.
