TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - One person was killed and a DEA agent was injured in a shooting at a home in Tucson on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Arizona DPS said the DEA’s Special Response Team was helping its Gang Task Force serve a warrant at a home near 36th and Forgeus.
DPS said around 11:20 a.m., someone shot at the agents as they entered the home. One agent was struck, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
DPS said a person was killed, and there is no threat to the public.
Witnesses told 13 News’ J.D. Wallace that the southside neighborhood was placed on lockdown during the incident. They also said that they saw three suspects being placed inside black SUVs.
Lillian Cavett Elementary, Pueblo Gardens PreK-8, and Madge Utterback Middle were placed in secure mode as a precaution
