EAST GULL LAKE — Two Minnesota grown golfers battled at the top of the leaderboard in the first round of the CRMC Championship presented by Northern Pacific Center Thursday, Aug. 28, at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Staples-Motley graduate Andrew Israelson enjoyed success at Cragun’s Legacy Courses in July when he won the Legacy Pro Am.

He earned a sponsor exemption into the CRMC Championship and fired a first round 7-under score of 64, which puts him tied for third and two shots off the leader Grant Booth.

Israelson started his day with a bogey on the par 4, 10th hole. The tee box from the 10th hole is set on the Legacy patio.
