EUNICE, La. (KLFY) -- In Eunice, funding from the state is leading towards progress as key areas of the city will be receiving some much-needed renovations.

This includes the Eunice Municipal Complex, which holds the city hall, the city jail and the police department all receiving renovations for the first time since the building's construction nearly 50 years ago.

"We're lucky to announce that we did receive a $1.3 million," said Mayor Scott Fontenot. "And that's going to do some energy efficiency work on the building, some work to the police department itself, the jail and the security to enhance for our patrons and our employees."
