DENVER (KDVR) — New details of what caused a large law enforcement presence at the University of Colorado Boulder's Norlin Library are emerging as the investigation continues.

The incident led to a campus-wide shelter-in-place order on Monday as police swept the library and nearby residence hall. No suspects, injuries or shots fired were reported on Monday, and police later said it was likely a swatting attempt.

Swatting is the act of making a false statement to law enforcement with the goal of creating a large, emergency response, particularly with a SWAT team, to respond to a specific location and cause chaos and confusion.
