BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo’s signature dish is taking center stage again this weekend as final preparations wrap up for the National Buffalo Wing Festival at Sahlen Field.
Fifteen tons of chicken wings were delivered to the ballpark, setting the stage for one of the city’s biggest annual food events.
This year, some of those wings will be cooked by student-athletes from D’Youville University, a new twist organizers say will add energy to the festival. With the event returning to its original venue downtown, a large turnout is expected — and that means more wings than usual.
