MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A Minot man who investigators say strangled a woman and a child last September was ordered to serve 10 years in prison.
Troy Sanders pleaded guilty in May to two counts of A-felony attempted murder.
According to the criminal affidavit, the 34-year-old Sanders attacked a woman and a child at a southwest Minot residence.
In the affidavit, the woman told investigators that he put the child in a chokehold to the point where the child “went limp” before throwing the child aside.
According to the report, Sanders tried strangling the woman twice, and the second time she said she “went black.”
As police arrived on scene, a bystander intervened and kicked Sanders unconscious, according to the affidavit.
Police said Sanders repeatedly yelled “I’ll kill you” to the victims
