The forecast is trending hotter for Northern California as September begins next week.
A few days ago, forecast model data was hinting at a possible drop in temperatures but there was high uncertainty with that prediction. More recent updates show an area of high pressure moving closer starting Labor Day and lingering near the West Coast for several days.
This shift sets the Valley up for temperatures near or above 100 degrees next Tuesday and Wednesday. Mornings will still be somewhat comfortable with lows in the low 60s.
The holiday weekend will be very warm with Valley highs in the mid to upper 90s. Foothills temperatures will reach the low 90s. Dry weather is expected around Lake Tahoe with afternoon highs in the low 80s.
