ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Following yet another school shooting in the U.S., Governor Mike DeWine says schools in Ohio can contact the state for help with recommendations on campus safety.

On Thursday, he said districts can contact the Department of Public Safety and they will send experts to Ohio districts to look at the schools and give recommendations on how they can be safer.

He also said there’s some money available at the state level to also help districts make necessary changes.

“It’s it’s all in the preparation. It’s being ready and it’s also doing things that may deter someone from coming in and doing this. So there’s. No. No guarantee that tragedy will not strike, but we have an obligation to minimize the odds that that will happen,” said Gov. Mike DeWine.
