TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Leon County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to Godby High School as a resource officer has been accused of engaging in “sexual relations with a 16-year-old female student,” according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

Saul Garcia turned himself in to the Wakulla County Jail on Thursday and is charged with one count of unlawful sexual activity with certain minors, according to a press release shared by LCSO late Thursday night.

The department said it launched an investigation into Garcia on April 16, after which he was placed on administrative leave and removed from his assignment.

Investigators said they established probable cause for unlawful sexual activity with certain minors, and a warrant was issued for Garcia’s arrest.
