BURLESON, Texas — Officers with the Burleson Police Department made one of the cutest rescues — and made a friend along the way.

The Burleson Police Department said its victim assistance coordinator saw a little movement near a storm drain as she pulled into work Thursday morning, and discovered a kitten stuck in a storm drain near the police station.

"So when we say our Victim Assistance Coordinator saves lives, we really mean all lives," Burleson PD wrote.

According to the department, the coordinator called for backup, and officers helped rescue the kitten. BPD said officers bathed the kitten, and it has become a part of the department family.
