NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence suffered its first loss of the season as Jennings County rallied in the final two sets to win a five-set thriller during high school volleyball action on Thursday night.

The Panthers posted a 22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13, 15-10 triumph. The Stars slipped to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the Hoosiers Hills Conference.

” I thought we had it,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “We couldn’t quite push over the hump under pressure.”

Adalynn Bailey recorded 42 assists, Sara Williams totaled 32 digs, Lily Mischler paced the offense with 12 kills and Jenna Allen added 11 kills for BNL.

The Stars will compete in the Brownstown Invitational on Saturday.
