LOS ANGELES - Nearly 780,000 Ryobi pressure washers sold at retailers including Home Depot are being recalled across the U.S. and Canada because of an explosion hazard linked to dozens of injuries, regulators announced Thursday.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall affects two Ryobi-branded electric pressure washer models, RY142300 and RY142711VNM. The devices’ capacitors can overheat and burst, "causing parts to be forcefully ejected," the agency said.
Officials warned that the defect poses a risk of serious impact injuries to both users and bystanders.
