TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Multiple agencies assisted the Arizona Department of Public Safety's (AZDPS) Gang Task Force in serving a search warrant to a Tucson resident on the southside.
On Aug. 28 around 11:20 a.m., the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Special Response Team (SRT) helped serve a residential warrant in the area near 36th Street and Country Club Road, AZDPS said.
Officials said upon entry, shots were fired at agents and one DEA agent was struck but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene and there is no current threat to the public, according to AZDPS.
Earlier today, there was a helicopter circling over the area.
AZDPS is investigating the situation.
