WALTON, Ky. —
Two Boone County deputies are recovering after being shot in Walton, Kentucky, on Thursday night, the Boone County Sheriff's Office said.

It happened at Towne Creek Crossing Apartments on Service Road, behind a Kroger. Police were first called to the scene around 10 p.m. Thursday.
In the latest update, the sheriff's office said that the two deputies are both stable and one of the deputies was discharged from the hospital Friday afternoon. One of the officers was shot in the chest and the other was shot in the leg.
The deputies were called to the scene initially to serve an arrest warrant, before the suspect opened fire.
