FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - The City of Fond du Lac celebrated the completion of its Main Street Rehabilitation project Thursday afternoon.

The improvements included resurfacing asphalt, from 6th Street to Merrill Street, as well as general repairs to curbs, gutters, crosswalks, and water mains.

City managers said it’s been decades since the area has had any sort of renovation and that the investment was well worth it.

“It’s been decades, and it needed to get done. You have a street like this, it gets potholes because it gets plowed every winter, it gets cut because we make repairs for utilities,” Joe Moore said.

The revitalized area will serve as a central location for local businesses, festivals and events.,
