KIRKWOOD, Mo. - FOX 2 is learning about a car crash rescue involving a trapped driver off of Interstate 44 and Lindbergh.

According to witnesses, the car initially landed in a backyard Thursday evening. But emergency crews and firefighters got the car out of the woods behind Stonecrest Townhomes.

The driver of the vehicle was safely rescued by first responders and placed on a stretcher. One resident, Teresa Fuller, heard the crash while she was at home.

“This was a very horrific event,” Fuller said. “I was in my house, and we heard this crash. That’s not something normal you hear, and I come outside and everybody is out—even my children were concerned for the person trapped in the car.”

Fuller said she was proud of her neighbors and first responders for their fast response to assisting
