WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - This week, the Beaufort County Public Health Department announced its plans to begin spraying for mosquitoes, especially in areas showing elevated mosquito populations.
“We trap weekly here in this county, and all throughout the county our numbers are starting to increase and along with that has come a couple of extra complaints too,” Beaufort County’s Environmental Health Program Specialist, Anne Harrison said. “So it’s time to get all of our equipment up and running and make a few rounds to help eliminate any problems moving forward.”
The process will be completed between dusk and dawn, using specialized trucks that spray mosquito insecticides, focusing on areas with standing water.
