Following an announcement that the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has decided to discontinue contracts for services provided by the City of Bangor's public health nurses, Maine State Senator Joe Baldacci, who represents Bangor, has secured a meeting with Governor Mills to make the case for reversing the decision.

Baldacci is now set to meet with the governor on September 5th at noon.

He argues that the services provided by Bangor Public Health's nurses impact hundreds of people across multiple counties and are sorely needed, particularly services pertaining to maternal health and child welfare.
