Storm chances will increase starting Friday across New Mexico. The stormier weather will continue into September with cooler temperatures.

A few scattered showers and storms have again popped up in New Mexico Thursday afternoon. These are mainly moving east across southern parts of the state. A couple strong storms have also formed behind a cold front draped across northeast New Mexico. While the rain and storms will end later tonight, the cold front will push south and west across the state. It won't bring cooler temperatures, but it will bring an increase in moisture by Friday morning. The increase in moisture will start a stormier pattern across New Mexico again.
