Hope Leyba’s season-opening hot streak remained intact. As did Colorado’s unbeaten start to the 2025 season.
Leyba scored two goals and the CU women’s soccer team cruised past New Mexico State on Thursday night, posting a 4-1 victory at Prentup Field.
Leyba began the week as the nation’s co-leader in goals and quickly added to that total, as the junior forward recorded her third consecutive multi-goal game. Leyba has scored in every game this season as the Buffaloes improved to 4-0-1.
It was another CU forward enjoying an early hot streak, sophomore Jace Holley, who opened the scoring, putting the Buffs on the board with a tally in the fourth minute off an assist from Emerson Layne. Holley added an assist on Leyba’s first goal in the 11th minute, giving Holley six goals and four assists
