Jayden Denegal threw for 208 yards in his San Diego State debut, while Lucky Sutton posted his first 100-yard game to lead the Aztecs to a 42-0 win over Stony Brook in Thursday's season opener.

It was a promising start to 2025 for Sean Lewis' team. They posted 453 yards of total offense, after averaging 334 and 21 points in his three-win debut season.

Sutton scored twice and reached the century mark on 22 carries. Christian Washington and Parker Threatt also found the end zone in the blowout win.

Denegal was particularly impressive in the first half. He elevated a throw in traffic to Jacob Bostick for a 23 yard gain on their second possession. He then took advantage of a free play, finding Bostickwide open in the end zone from 25 yards out.
