A local true-crime event scheduled for tonight has been canceled, with plans to reschedule for a later date.

Representatives from Regan Communications notified The Enterprise on Saturday that the event, scheduled for Sunday, August 24, had been canceled.

Advertising for the event notes that guest speakers will aim to give attendees an inside look at a widely-followed case in Massachusetts history—Commonwealth v Read, which is set to feature discussions from both Casey Sherman, who authored "Helltown" and "Blood In The Water", and the jury foreman (Juror #1) of the Karen Read trial.

Once rescheduled, the free event will feature a deep-dive discussion on the case, including the weight of the evidence used in the trial, the pressure felt within the courtroom, and how allegations of police
