Twelve recent Sandwich Middle High School graduates have been awarded the Massachusetts Seal of Biliteracy.

World Language Department chairman Liam Kelly said that the Massachusetts Seal of Biliteracy is the highest level of language achievement recognized by the state.

Students must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension in both English and another language to earn the seal upon graduation.

The students are:

Rama Boura—French

Adam Ferreira—Latin

Jeramiah Gonzaga—Portuguese

Navya Junkins—Spanish

George Minihan—Portuguese

Andrew Miranda—Portuguese

McKenzie Royle—Latin

Karen Silva—Portuguese
