Funding requests have been made to the Bourne Community Preservation Committee (CPC) to pay for rebuilding the Monument Beach marina and tree work to help preserve gravestones at the historic Sagamore Cemetery in South Sagamore. The two projects were the only two applicants requesting Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds from the committee for consideration at the Fall Special Town Meeting. The combined amounts come to $732,500, with the bulk of the money going to the marina work.

Both projects were presented to the CPC during its meeting on Tuesday , August 26 . Bourne Shore and Harbor Committee chairman Richard Libin estimated the cost of rebuilding the Monument Beach marina at $710,000 and said the marina “is in desperate need of reconstruction.”
