KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – Kootenai County Fire and Rescue is asking voters to approve a $6 million levy in the upcoming November election. If approved, it will cost taxpayers approximately $43 per $100,000 of assessed property value each year.

In a recent Facebook post, Kootenai County Fire emphasized that the permanent levy override is crucial for maintaining current staffing levels. They stated it will continue funding for firefighters and paramedics while supporting growth to meet increasing call volumes.

The district also highlighted that the levy would help preserve response times, ensuring they remain prepared for future emergencies.

Interim Fire Chief Pete Holley echoed these sentiments, stating, "The levy override is essential for both stability and growth."
