An MSP has been charged over allegations a covert camera was installed in the toilets of the Scottish Parliament. Last week, it was announced that Labour MSP Colin Smyth had been suspended from his party following charges related to possession of indecent images.

The Daily Record reported that Smyth has now been charged for allegedly placing a camera in a toilet within the Scottish Parliament building. Smyth, from Dumfries, was arrested after a search of his home was conducted by Police Scotland officers on August 5
