Heavy rain is set to sweep across Greater Manchester on Saturday afternoon.

A period of recent warm and settled weather has put the UK on track for its warmest summer on record.

However, forecasters are warning people that the school holidays and meteorlogical summer are set to end on a wet and windy note.

A low pressure system is set to move in from the west bringing it with heavy downpours - potentially up to 20mm of rain - and 50mph in parts of the country.

In Greater Manchester, it is expected that there could be some very light showers overnight on Friday and into Saturday.
